Art of Living: Working with Veterans and Addiction through Clay

Check out this video clip from The Art of Living where art therapist Maureen Harvey works with veterans & addiction through clay: http://www.veria.com/maureen-harvey.html
Here’s a description of the program:
The military veterans in Maureen Harvey’s art therapy program use clay sculpture to describe their innermost feelings – the shape of their addiction, their self-identity, their struggles. As Harvey explains, the clay helps them settle down, be quiet, shut down the words and work intuitively from the right side of their brain. One man molds a piece that recalls the circles he feels his life has him chasing. Another molds a monster, because “When I’m on drugs and alcohol, I feel like a serpent or a demon.” Harvey and her program are there to help these soldiers fight their demons.
